GAUNT, Alan. b. Manchester, 26 May 1935. He was educated at Silcoates School, Lancashire Independent College and Manchester University. He was ordained in the Congregational (later United Reformed Church) ministry in 1958, and served churches at Clitheroe and Barrow, Lancashire; Keighley, Yorkshire; Sunderland; Heswall; the South-West Manchester group of Baptist and United Reformed churches; and Windermere.
He has published books of prayers, including New Prayers for Worship (1972); Prayers for the Christian Year (1979); Each Day's Delight (1979); This is the Day (1992); and Woven into Joy (2010). Hymn publications include New Hymns for Worship (1973); The Hymn Texts of Alan Gaunt (1991);...
