Susan Palo Cherwien
CHERWIEN, Susan Palo. b. Ashtabula, Ohio, 4 May 1953; d. St Louis Park, Minnesota, 28 December 2021. Susan Palo attended Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ashtabula, where she first encountered the music and poetry of the Christian tradition. She attended Wittenberg University, Springfield, Ohio (BM, 1975); and from 1976-1981 she studied at the Berliner Kirchenmusikschule, Spandau, and the Hochschule der Künste, Berlin, where she received the certification (Abschlussprüfung) in voice; and Mundelein College in Chicago, Illinois (MLS 1993) with an emphasis on spirituality, ritual and the arts.
