God with humanity made one. David Fox* (1956-2008).
Dated March 1986, this hymn was published in the Second Edition of Thy Various Praise (1997), having previously appeared in RS (1991) in the ‘healing and reconciliation’ section. It attracted the attention of the compilers of A&MCP, who shortened it, presumably with the author’s agreement, by combining stanza 5 lines 1-2 with stanza 4 lines 3-4. The original stanzas were:
Through us God calls the world again, and constantly his love remains with arms outstretched, to heal and bless the refugees of emptiness.
