Hilary Peter Frank Greenwood
GREENWOOD, Hilary Peter Frank. b. Manchester, 26 Feb 1929; d. Australia, 10 Sept 2003. Greenwood was educated locally in Manchester and at the University of Nottingham (BA 1947). After National Service (1947-49) as a bandsman in the South Lancashire Regiment, he went to Kelham Theological College, becoming a member of the Society of the Sacred Mission, an Anglican order of monks founded in 1893. He took vows in 1954, and was ordained (deacon 1957, priest 1958), staying at Kelham as tutor (1957-59) before serving as curate of Moderpoort Mission, South Africa (1959-60).
