Worthy of worship
Worthy of worship. Terry W. York* (1949- ).
‘Worthy of worship’ was one of five newly composed musical selections by Terry York and Mark Blankenship for the musical, Praise the Risen Savior (Nashville, 1989). It then appeared in the Baptist Hymnal (1991) and in several other predominately evangelical collections, including the Baptist Hymnal (2008), Celebrating Grace Hymnal (2010), The Covenant Hymnal (1996), and Worship and Rejoice (2003).
Originally composed in the key of G major, ‘Worthy of Worship’ is published in the key of F major and includes three stanzas and a refrain. The use of anaphora and alliteration provide sonic and thematic unity to the hymn:
