Wonder of wonders, here revealed
Wonder of wonders, here revealed. Jane Parker Huber* (1926-2008).
Written in 1980, this hymn of four verses for baptism was published in Huber’s A Singing Faith (1981), and subsequently in The Presbyterian Hymnal (1990). It then appeared in the United Church of Christ’s New Century Hymnal and the Disciples of Christ’s Chalice Hymnal (both 1995). It continued to be used by the Presbyterian Church in Glory to God (2013) (See Hymnary.org).
It was written in the belief that ‘God loves each of us before we know how to love in return and baptism makes us part of a world-wide family unbound by time and space’ (McKim, 1993, p. 340). It is frequently sung to the tune PENTECOST by William Boyd, used...
