William Whitla

WHITLA, William John. b. Galt (now Cambridge), Ontario, Canada, 1 May 1934. Whitla was educated at University College, Toronto (BA, English Language & Literature, 1957); University of Toronto (MA, English, 1961); Trinity College, Toronto (STB, Bachelor of Sacred Theology, Graduate Honours degree in Theology, 1961); Merton College, Oxford (DPhil, English, 1968).  He was Professor of English and Humanities at York University, Toronto (1963–94), and Professor Emeritus and Senior Scholar (1994–).
