William Chalmers Covert
COVERT, William Chalmers. b. Hopewell, Indiana, 4 October 1864; d. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 4 February 1942. He was a minister, administrator, writer, and editor. His parents were Albert Newton Covert (1837–1924) and Susan Elizabeth Magill Covert (1840–1927). The community in which he was born had been established by his grandfather and four of his grandfather’s brothers.
Covert earned the BA degree from Hanover College (Indiana) in 1885 and the BD from McCormick Theological Seminary (Chicago) in 1888.
