The first joint meeting of the Hymn Society of Great Britain and Ireland* (HSGBI), the International Fellowship for Research in Hymnody (Internationale Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Hymnologie, IAH), and the Hymn Society of America (now The Hymn Society in the United States and Canada*) was held at St Catherine’s College, Oxford, 24-29 August 1981.
