Wer Gott vertraut hat wohl gebaut. Joachim Magdeburg* (1525- ?).
Wackernagel, Das Deutsche Kirchenlied III. 1035-43, prints stanza 1 as ‘Wer Gott vertrawt hat wol gebawt’ from Christliche und Tröstliche Tischgesenge, mit vier Stimmen… durch Joachimum Magdeburgium, Gardenlebensem (Erfurt, 1571, 1572), saying that the authorship is not absolutely certain; stanzas 2 and 3 are printed from Harmonia Cantionum Ecclesiasticarum. Durch Sethum Calvisium (Leipzig, 1597), and from an Eisleben Gesangbuch of 1598. In EG, where it is found in the ‘Angst und Vertrauen’ section, the first stanza is attributed to Magdeburg and stanza s 2 and 3 to ‘Leipzig, 1597’.
