We utter our cry

We utter our cry. Fred Kaan* (1929–2009).  This hymn was written in 1983 while Kaan was serving as the Moderator of the West Midlands Province of the United Reformed Church (1978–85), following the position of Executive Secretary of the World Alliance of Reformed Churches (1970–78) in Geneva. It initially appeared in the author’s collection, The Hymn Texts of Fred Kaan (Carol Stream, Illinois: Hope Publishing Company, 1985, No. 125).   ‘We utter our cry’ combines a fervent plea for peace with passion for the then-growing environmental movement.
