Thomas Vincent Fosbery
FOSBERY, Thomas Vincent. b. Limerick, Ireland, 1807; d. Bracknell, Berkshire, 1875. He was educated at Trinity College, Dublin (BA 1830, MA 1847). He took Holy Orders (deacon 1831, priest 1832), serving a curacy at Etchilhampton, Wiltshire (1831-34). From 1834 to 1849 his career is uncertain. He is listed in the Clergy Lists from 1841 onward as living at Westcliff House, Niton, Isle of Wight, but with no benefice. He became the incumbent of Sunningdale, Berkshire (1849-57) and vicar of St Giles, Reading (1857-70) before retiring to Bracknell. From 1862 he was Chaplain to the Bishop of Oxford, Samuel Wilberforce, and from 1869 to 1873 he was Honorary Chaplain to Wilberforce when the latter...
