Thomas Charles Hunter Clare
CLARE, Thomas Charles Hunter. b. Leicester, 26 December 1910; d. Leicester, 18 February 1984. He was educated at Selwyn College, Cambridge (BA 1933, MA 1937), and Bede College, Durham. He took Holy Orders (deacon 1938, priest 1939), and served as curate of Christ Church, Gateshead (1938-42), Christ Church, Morningside, Edinburgh (1942-46), Birstall and Wanlip, Leicestershire (1946-48), and St Augustine’s, New Basford, Nottinghamshire (1948-50). In 1951 he became rector of Saxelbye with Grimston and Shoby, Leicestershire, where he remained until shortly before his death.
