The Lord is King! I own his power. Darley Terry* (1847-1933).
The Methodist history of this hymn is strange. It was not selected for MHB, although Terry represented the United Methodist Church on the committee ; but it was sung at the Royal Albert Hall during the service to celebrate Methodist Union in 1932. It is not known to Methodists today except in The School Hymn Book of the Methodist Church (1950). It was first published in The Methodist School Hymnal (1911), to which it was submitted anonymously.
