T. Vincent Tymms
TYMMS, (Thomas) Vincent. b. Westminster, London, 5 January 1842; d. 25 May 1921. He was educated at Regent’s Park Baptist College, at that time in London. He became the pastor at Berwick-upon-Tweed (1865-68), Accrington (1868-69), and Downs Chapel, Clapton, London (1869-91). He became one of the most eminent Baptists of his day: he was appointed President and Professor of Theology at Rawdon College, the Baptist College at Leeds (1891-1904). He was President of the Baptist Union in 1896; he was awarded an Honorary DD by the University of St Andrews in 1897. He retired to Bexhill on Sea.
