Suzanne Toolan
TOOLAN, Suzanne. b. Lansing, Michigan, 24 October 1927. She was educated at the Immaculate Heart College, Hollywood, (BA 1950), attended summer schools at the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Indiana, and in 1962 received the MA at San Francisco State University. She entered the Sisters of Mercy in Burlingame, California, and served as choral director at the Mercy High School (1953-80). Toolan was organist and choir director at St Ambrose Church in Hollywood (1945-50); liturgy and music director at Russell College (1960-68); choir director at St Patrick’s Seminary in Menlo Park, California (1980-85); and director of the Mercy Retreat Center in Burlingame (1981-88).
