Saviour, round Thy footstool bending. Elizabeth Parson* (1812-1873).  This hymn was published in Willing Class Hymns (n.d., written for private circulation, probably post-1873), but JJ noted that some had been published in earlier collections such as the Baptist Psalms and Hymns (1858). He dated their composition to the years 1840 to 1844, before Parson’s’ marriage. He described this one as ‘For tenderness...the most pathetic’ (p. 882). It had five stanzas:  Saviour, round Thy footstool bending,  See our youthful band appear; Let Thy Spirit, now descending,  Our petitions deign to hear;      Thou art willing,  For Thy Grace is always near.  Once, on earth to share Thy blessing  Children...
