KIMBROUGH, Jr., S T. b. Athens, Alabama, 17 December 1936. Prominent Wesley scholar, singer, editor, and global hymnologist, Kimbrough attended Birmingham Southern College, Birmingham, Alabama (BA, 1958), The Divinity School, Duke University, Durham, North Carolina (BDiv, 1962) and Princeton Theological Seminary, Princeton, New Jersey (PhD, 1966). An ordained elder in The United Methodist Church, he was pastor of churches in Alabama, North Carolina, New Jersey, and Germany.
