Routley Collection
As organist, a scholar, editor, and educator, Erik Routley* (1917-1982) is recognized for his oustanding contribution to hymnological study and hymn writing in the 20th century. In 1975, he joined the faculty of Westminster Choir College, Princeton, New Jersey (now part of Rider University), serving as Professor of Church Music and Director of Chapel until his death. Routley’s library and papers were acquired from his estate in 1992 through his wife, Margaret Routley. The Collection is held by the Talbott Music Library, Rider University, Lawrenceville, New Jersey.
