Robert L. Edwards
EDWARDS, Robert Lansing. b. Auburn, New York, 5 August 1915; d. Hartford, Connecticut, 15 January 2006. He came from a distinguished family (he was a descendant of Thomas Hooker and Jonathan Edwards, and his mother was a sister of John Foster Dulles, Secretary of State under President Eisenhower). After school at Deerfield Academy, he studied at Princeton University (BA 1937) and Harvard University (MA, 1938), and then served in an intelligence unit during World War II.
