Robert John Buchanan Eddison
EDDISON, (Robert) John (Buchanan). b. Derbyshire, 1916; d. Lingfield, Surrey, 2011. Educated at Wellington College and Trinity College, Cambridge (BA 1938, MA 1942), he trained for the priesthood at Ridley Hall, Cambridge (deacon 1939, priest 1940). He was curate of St John’s, Tunbridge Wells (1939-43), honorary chaplain for many years to the Bishop of Rochester, Christopher Chavasse, and, for most of his career, a staff member of the Scripture Union (1942-1980). He was Travelling Secretary for Independent Schools, and then for the IAPS (Independent Association of Preparatory Schools).
