Risen Lord whose name we cherish
Risen Lord whose name we cherish. David Mowbray* (1938- ).
First published in Mowbray’s local collection, Kingdom Come: Fifty Hymns for Parish Services (no date, ca. 1979), for the use of his congregations at Broxbourne, Hertfordshire.
Following an invocation, asking Christ (‘Risen Lord’) to look mercifully on his people, a catalogue of our sins is followed by an affirmation of the good works of the Church, a prayer for unity and an invitation to Christ to dwell in us, so that we may taste the Father’s joys together. This hymn appears in the Jubilate Hymns* publications HFTC and Let’s Praise 1. It also appears in ICH5 (2000).
