Rigdon M. McIntosh

McINTOSH, Rigdon McCoy. b. Maury County, near Columbia, Tennessee, 3 April 1836; d. Atlanta, Georgia, 4 July 1899. McIntosh graduated from Jackson College, Columbia (1854), and taught high school English and mathematics briefly before embarking upon a career in music with brothers L. C. and Asa Brooks Everett, who owned a successful enterprise based in Richmond, Virginia, teaching vocal music throughout the southern and middle Atlantic states in the years before the American Civil War.
