Richard Shephard

SHEPHARD, Richard James. b. Gloucester, 20 March 1949. Shephard began his musical career as a chorister at Gloucester Cathedral under Herbert Sumsion (1899-1995). He read music at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, where he was a Choral Scholar. Having completed his studies, he became Director of Music at Salisbury Cathedral School in 1970 and moved in 1974 to a similar position at the Godolphin School, also in Salisbury. In 1982, Shephard returned to the Cathedral School as Deputy Headmaster.
