Richard Cheri
CHERI, Richard Anthony. b. New Orleans, Louisiana, 2 February 1953.
Richard Cheri is a pastoral musician, liturgist, and mathematician. He began his position as Director of the Archdiocesan Gospel Choir in 1984 and was the Director of Music at Our Lady Star of the Sea from 2001 to 2024. Cheri is the brother of African American Catholic Bishop Fernand Cheri, OFM (1952–2023), a former auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of New Orleans.
