Richard Birch Hoyle
HOYLE, Richard Birch. b. Cloughfold, Rawtenstall, Lancashire, 8 March 1875; d. Wimbledon, London, 14 December 1939. He was trained for the Baptist Church ministry at Regent’s Park College, London. He was pastor of Baptist churches in Sudbury (Suffolk), Aberdeen, London, and Belvedere (Kent), and worked for the YMCA movement, editing its magazine, the Red Triangle. He was visiting Professor of Systematic Theology, Western Theological Seminary, Pittsburgh (now part of Pittsburgh Theological Seminary) from 1934 to 1936. After his return from Pittsburgh he was pastor at Kingston-upon-Thames.
