Restore in us, O God
Restore in us, O God. Carl P. Daw, Jr.* (1944– ).
This text was published initially as an anthem sung by the 1987 Diocesan Choir Camp in Connecticut. Since then, it has appeared in ten different hymnals. The text appeared as a hymn without music in the author’s first collection, A Year of Grace: Hymns for the Church Year (1990), where Daw recommends the tunes FRANCONIA, ST BRIDE, and SOUTHWELL (Daw, 1990, p. 52). Most recently, the text appeared in three hymnals published in 2013 with diverse denominational affiliations—Glory to God, Community of Christ Sings, and the British A&MRW - respectively set to BAYLOR, ST MICHAEL, and NARENZA.
