O Thou who dost accord us
O Thou who dost accord us. John W. Hewett* (1824-1886), and others.
This is a variant text from Hewett’s ‘O Thou who dost to man accord’*. It is found in EH/NEH , where it is in the metre of 7.7.6.7.7.8, set to the tune INNSBRUCK. It has four stanzas from Hewett’s five, omitting stanza 4, with its specific reference to Lent, ‘’Tis Thou hast blessed this solemn fast’, although the hymn is in the ‘Lent’ section in both EH and NEH. Stanza 3 is remarkable in its transformation of the A&M text:
