Mennonite hymnody in English
Mennonite hymnody is defined here as hymns that Mennonites sing and the manner in which they sing them, and confined to hymns in English. It should be noted, however, that this does not give a complete picture of Mennonite hymnody worldwide, given the fact that at the beginning of the 20th century 98% of Mennonites lived in Europe or North America; whereas at the beginning of the 21st century 60% live in Asia, Africa and Latin America (see Janecek, 2005).
