Mary Nelson Keithahn

KEITHAHN, Mary Nelson. b. Gaylord, Minnesota, 17 February 1934. An ordained pastor and certified church education specialist in the United Church of Christ (UCC), she grew up in a small Minnesota town where she graduated from high school in 1952. It was customary for the junior class at Gaylord High School to write prophesies for what graduated students would become in their adult life. Mary was surprised to read that her younger classmates foresaw a future for her as a great writer. After high school Mary attended Carleton College (Northfield, Minnesota) where she majored in sociology but also took basic music courses, voice and organ lessons.
