Mary, Mother of Good Counsel. Murray John Kroetsch* (1952-).
While serving as chairperson for the production of the Catholic Book of Worship III, Kroetsch wrote this text for the Catholic Women’s League to be used at their meetings and for liturgical celebrations. Our Lady of Good Counsel is the patroness of this women’s group. Her feast is celebrated on 26 April. The text reflects Mary’s deep faith and understanding of God’s call. The singer intercedes for that same commitment. Mary is heralded as bearer of Good News: likewise the singer longs to grow in praise of God and service to those in need.
