Martin Edward Fallas Shaw
SHAW, Martin Edward Fallas. b. Kennington, Lambeth, London, 9 March 1875; d. Southwold, Suffolk, 24 October 1958. He was brought up in Belsize Park, London; his father was organist at Hampstead Parish Church from 1876. Educated in local schools and at the Royal College of Music, where he studied composition with Stanford*; he left without completing his studies. Early employment as a church organist gave way to involvement in the theatrical productions of Gordon Craig and Isadora Duncan, entailing several years of travel throughout England and Europe.
