Marie Barnett
BARNETT, Marie (neé Chenard). b. Walnut Creek, California, 1 June 1960. Marie Barnett is a worship leader, writer and dance instructor involved in the formative years of the Vineyard movement and best known for her heartfelt, intimate song ‘This is the air I breathe’ (known as ‘Breathe’). Raised the fourth of five children in a musical family, she grew up singing and playing guitar. However, she trained as a dance and then fitness instructor, and is certified by the Royal Academy of Dance in ballet instruction.
