Make room within my heart, O God. Bryan Jeffery Leech* (1931-2015).
First published in The Covenant Hymnal of the Evangelical Covenant Church (Chicago, 1973). Leech was a member of the committee for that book. It has since appeared in editions of the Baptist Hymnal (1975, 1991) and it was chosen by Donald P. Hustad* for The Worshiping Church (Hope Publishing Company*, 1990). It was set to a tune by Katherine Kennicott Davis*, MASSACHUSETTS, written at the request of the committee for The Methodist Hymnal (1966) for Charles Kingsley*’s ‘From thee all skill and science flow’*. In the Baptist Hymnal (1991) it was set to FOREST GREEN, the adaptation of an English folk melody by Ralph Vaughan...
