Ludämilia Elisabeth Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt
SCHWARZBURG-RUDOLSTADT, Ludämilia Elisabeth. b. Heidecksberg, near Rudolstadt, 7 April 1640; d. Rudolstadt, 12 March 1672. Of noble birth, she was privately educated at Rudolstadt: she was ‘a good Latin scholar, and well read in divinity and other branches of learning’ (JJ, p. 701). From 1665 to 1670 she lived with her mother at the castle of Friedensburg. On her return to Rudolstadt she was engaged to be married, but an epidemic of measles carried off her sister, Sophie Juliane. Nursing her, Ludämilia Elisabeth and another sister, Christiane Magdalene, caught the disease and died.
