Les Garrett
GARRETT, Leslie Norman (‘Les’). b. Matamata, New Zealand, 15 July 1943. Educated at the New Life Word of Faith Bible School, Tuaranga, he moved to Australia to become pastor of the Christian Family Centre, Maddington, Perth, Western Australia. He later became a travelling evangelist. He published Scripture in Song, volume 1 (Brisbane, 1967; not to be confused with Scripture put to Song, 1968, by Dale and David Garratt) a collection of praise songs that included the well known ‘This is the day’* by Fred Kaan*. He has conducted preaching tours of mainly Baptist churches in North America, and evangelistic campaigns in Ireland, India, South Africa, and south-east Asia. For ten years he lectured...
