Leon McKinley Adkins
ADKINS, Leon McKinley, Sr. b. Ticerondoga, New York, 14 July 1896; d. Saratoga Springs, New York, 11 October 1986. Educated at Middlebury College, Vermont (BA 1919) and Boston University School of Theology (STB, 1925), Adkins was ordained into the Methodist Episcopal Church. He served as a minister at Delmar, New York (1927-37), Schenectady, New York (1937-50), and the University Methodist Church, Syracuse, New York (1950-55). He was awarded an honorary DD by Middlebury College in 1945; and in 1965 he received the Distinguished Alumnae Award from Boston University School of Theology.
