Ken Medema
MEDEMA, Kenneth Peter. b. Grand Rapids, Michigan, 12 July 1943. Blind from birth, Medema showed an early penchant for music, and was educated in the Christian day schools in his birth city. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in voice, piano, and music theory at Michigan State University (1965), worked as music therapist in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and earned his Master’s degree in music therapy from Michigan State University (1969). He was a music therapist in Cedar Grove, New Jersey, prior to beginning a full-time concert career in 1973.
