Kathleen A. Thomerson
THOMERSON, Kathleen (née Armstrong). b. Jackson, Tennessee, 18 February 1934; d. Austin, Texas, 7 April 2025. She was a music pupil of Jay Everett Hilty at the University of Colorado for a year, before attending the University of Texas (BM 1956, MM 1958), with further study at Syracuse University, the Flemish Royal Conservatory in Antwerp, where she was a student of Flor Peeters (1903-86), and in Paris with Jean Langlais*. She performed throughout the United States and Europe as a recitalist including Paisley Abbey, Scotland; Coventry Cathedral, England; Notre Dame Cathedral, Paris; the Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs; St Thomas Church, Fifth Avenue, and Trinity Church, Wall Street,...
