Kaspar Stolzhagen

STOLZHAGEN, Kaspar. b. Bernau, near Berlin, 24 November 1550; d. Iglau (Czech Jihlava, 17 January 1594. His father, Joachim Stolzhagen, was pastor of Bernau, who died of the plague that ravaged the little town. Kaspar was educated at the Gymnasium at Frankfurt-an-der-Oder. He was Konrektor and then Rektor of a school at Bernau, before becoming Rektor of a Gymnasium in Stendal. He was then appointed to the Marienkirche in Stendal. He was Lutheran pastor of the German community at Iglau, in Moravia, from 1587 to 1594. He became a Doctor of Theology in 1593, not long before his early death.
