Josua Stegmann
STEGMANN, Josua. b. Sülzfeld, near Meiningen, 14 September 1588; d. Rinteln, 3 August 1632. Born the son of a Lutheran pastor, he was educated at the University of Leipzig (MA 1611), where he taught at the philosophy faculty. In 1617 he was awarded the degree of DD at the University of Wittenberg, and in the same year he was appointed pastor, and professor of the Gymnasium at Stadthagen. In 1621 the Gymnasium was made into a university and moved to Rinteln, where Stegmann became professor of Theology.
