Joseph Armitage Robinson
ROBINSON, Joseph Armitage. b. Keynsham, near Bath, 9 January 1858; d. Wells, Somerset, 7 May 1933. He was educated at Christ’s College, Cambridge (BA 1881, MA 1884, BD 1891, DD 1896). He took Holy Orders (deacon 1881, priest 1882), and after a year as domestic chaplain to the Bishop of Durham, Joseph Barber Lightfoot, he returned to Christ’s as Dean and Fellow (1884-90), also acting as curate of the university church, Great St Mary’s (1885-86) and vicar of All Saints’ (1888-92). He was appointed Norrisian Professor of Divinity at Cambridge in 1893.
