John Witvliet
WITVLIET, John Dwight. b. Sioux Falls, South Dakota, 18 December 1967. John D. Witvliet is a liturgical scholar, teacher, administrator, and author and an ordained Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRC). He is the oldest of three children born to Betty and John L. Witvliet, a CRC pastor.
In 1976 the family moved to Holland, Michigan, when his father became a pastor at Central Avenue CRC. John began studying piano at age 8, trumpet at 10, French horn at 11, the organ at 13, and voice at 18.
