John Henry Lester
LESTER, John Henry. b. ca 1845; d. ca. 1923. He was educated at St John’s College, Cambridge (BA 1868, MA 1871). He took Holy Orders (deacon 1868, priest 1870). After beginning his career as Second Master, Crediton Grammar School (1869-72), he was curate of St James, Litchurch, Derby (1872-75), and curate, later Perpetual Curate, of Normanton (1875-1880). He was appointed Diocesan Missioner, Diocese of Lichfield (1880-85, and Prebendary of Lichfield 1884): for this he produced A Form of Service for a Parochial Misssion (1881).
