John B. Foley
FOLEY, John B. b. Peoria, Illinois, 14 July 1939. Known as one of the ‘St Louis Jesuits’, John Foley has a Master’s degree in Philosophy and another in Theology from St Louis University as well as a PhD in Liturgical and Aesthetic Theology from the Graduate Theological Union (‘where religion meets the world’), Berkeley, California. He studied music at Wichita State University (1962), Washington University, St Louis (1966), and the Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto (1979). He was ordained as a Jesuit priest in 1972.
