Jeffery Rowthorn
ROWTHORN, Jeffery William. b. Newport, South Wales, 9 April 1934. He was educated at Christ’s College, Cambridge (BA 1957, MA 1962) and Union Theological Seminary, New York (BD 1961). He returned to Britain to Cuddesdon College (1961-62) and was ordained (deacon 1962, priest 1963). He was curate of Woolwich, London (1962-63) and rector of Garsington, near Oxford (1965-68). He returned to New York as chaplain at Union Theological Seminary (1968-73), and was appointed to the newly-founded Institute of Sacred Music, Yale University (1973-87). He was Bishop Suffragan of the Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut (1987-94), before becoming Bishop of the American Convocation of Churches in Europe...
