Jaroslav Vajda
VAJDA, Jaroslav Jan. b. Lorain, Ohio, 28 April 1919; d. St Louis, Missouri, 10 May 2008. From a Slovak immigrant family, he was educated at Concordia Junior College, and Concordia Theological Seminary, Clayton, St Louis, Missouri, the conservative evangelical seminary of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod. He served as a pastor of Slovak-English Lutheran congregations at Cranesville, Pennsylvania (1945-49); Alexandria, Indiana (1949-53); and Brackenridge, Pennsylvania (1953-63); and St Lucas Lutheran Church, St Louis, Missouri (1963-76).
