Isabella Stephana Stevenson
STEVENSON, Isabella (or Isabel) Stephana. b. Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, 31 July 1843; d. Cheltenham, 28 April 1890. She was the daughter of an army officer, Thomas Stevenson. She is believed to have been an invalid for much of her life, but also a devoted member of the Church of England. During the latter part of her life she is said to have been able to do parish work in Cheltenham. She is known as the author of one hymn, ‘Holy Father, in thy mercy’*.
