I heard the voice of Jesus say. Horatius Bonar* (1808-1889). Written during the author’s ministry in Kelso in the Scottish Borders, this hymn was first published in his Hymns, Original and Selected (1846) and subsequently appeared in the first series of his Hymns of Faith and Hope (1857), where it was given the title ‘The Voice from Galilee’.
