Hymns Old & New
This is the title, with additional variants, of a series of hymnbooks published from 1986 onwards by Kevin Mayhew*, first from Leigh on Sea, Essex, and subsequently from an address near Stowmarket, Suffolk, sometimes described as Rattlesden and sometimes as Buxhall, both local villages. The title of these books is an obvious reference to the great British hymnal of the 19th century and after, Hymns Ancient and Modern*, to which these books are intended to be a modern equivalent.
An edition with the title Hymns Old & New was published in 1979, edited by Damian Lundy* and Kevin Mayhew. A revised and enlarged edition was edited by Kevin Mayhew, with Tony Barr* and...
